Stephanie Smolik

Stephanie enjoys providing a safe, fun and nurturing environment in which anyone can practice yoga, regardless of age, weight, injury or physical issues. Her classes challenge both body and mind while focusing on alignment, mindfulness and breathwork. Above all Stephanie loves to keep a light heart and a positive mindset in all of her classes . She believes that yoga can bring health, vitality, peace and smiles to those who practice.

Stephanie is a certified Pranakriya yoga teacher, inspired by her teacher, Yoganand, Swami Kripalu, Sarah Powers,and Baron Baptiste.  Her yoga classes focus on aligning breath, body and energy through vinyasa style sequences. 

She also holds additional certifications in Conscious Child Yoga, ChildLight Yoga, and AAAI Pilates Mat.  In 2007 Stephanie began practicing Thai-Yoga Bodywork and has had the honor to study with her teacher Michael `Mukti' Buck several times over the past few years. She is certified by the Vedic Conservatory and continues to attend certifications whenever possible.

Thai-Yoga Bodywork
Nuad Borarn (Thai-Yoga Bodywork), nicknamed ‘lazy man’s yoga’, is an ancient art of healing and is reported to manifest instant positive results. In Thailand , bodywork is utilized medicinally as a cherished and revered indulgence to remedy the prominent social ailments such as emotional stress and physical sensitivies. Thai-Yoga sessions inspire the soul and tranquilize the body.

Thai-Yoga Bodywork has an overall therapeutic effect .It includes all parts of the body from head to toe, fingertip to fingertip.  The traditional sequence includes supine, side-lying, prone and seated positions. Most clients leave the session feeling deeply nourished, and relaxed , with new energy flowing through the body.

A session can last from 60 – 90 minutes, during which the receiver relaxes fully clothed on a futon while the practitioner offers a surrendering release allowing deeper and deeper physical and mental ‘openings’. Flowing, rhythmic compressions are applied using the palms, thumbs, feet, knees and elbows.  Yoga inspired stretching techniques, and intentional breath control are added for more opening.  This sequence produces a balanced and harmonious state. which integrates the body’s vital systems, including muscular, neural, and glandular. 

$80-one hour session*
$110- one and a half hour session*
Rates are for in-studio sessions, travel charges may apply for house calls.
